A new trash bin solution at a local beach community is using the power of the sun.
The solar powered litter basket on Avenida de la Playa at La Jolla Shores is ready to swallow your trash.
It's called the BigBelly Solar Trash Compactor.
This "new can on the block" can handle five times more waste than the traditional bins.
The state-of-the-art trash bin reduces collection time, saving fuel costs and staff time.
